Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony
I don't believe I was writing about sequels and I forgot the super sequel, the greatest of them all. Perhaps, as Sakshi says, this is totally undeserved but I did like it. Any brilliant series that can end with an ending this happy can truly be described as sublime. Yes, I admit Minerva was a useless intervention but I liked it anyway. JKR truly needs to take inspiration.

hey, i never said twas "totally" undeserving.... only that u went on about it being "so perfect", and even though i liked it, perfect wasn't the word i could use.... i've liked colfer's humour, no doubt, and maybe it was even better than the 3rd part (which i liked the most).... coz u could say twas a nice ending...
though, i can't deny that i have never ever rated any book as perfect.... not even the harry potters(obviously)...

well, sakshi, point taken. i didn't literally mean 'perfect' i meant i thought it was pretty close to the best possible way he could have written it. and while left and right we have authors thinking that the 'artistic merit' of their series cannot be retained unless they have people dying left and right, here we finally have a guy who actually realises that a book does not have to be sad to be good.
btw, i always liked the first one best.

i dont exactly like the first one that much.. its u, as u said, who likes(liked, actually) the evil artemis fowl... :)

you see, i think we already have too many idealistic, evil-fighting, altogether 'too good' protagonists. evil, unscrupulous criminal mastermind(who happens to be 13)? brilliant change.

the book seemed a bit, well, forced. as if EC ran out of plots so he created a parallel world again.

i don't know, i'm pretty fond of parallel worlds. and i'm pretty fond of No.1 too, splendid thesaurus. lol
and sorry for the misinformation, wikipedia says that there will be one more book.

I liked Lost Colony too, though alot of people didn't. But I think Colfer's idea to introduce a female character almost Artemis' equal was a good move, even if it didn't have the desired effect..

Well, I don't really agree with the 'almost' part of it: Minerva, more or less, is a good-looking female Artemis clone. I suppose he needed someone to start it off now that Arty was being boring and good.
