Ptolemy's Gate

Alright, this is the last of the Bartimaeus series and it isn't still as good as Amulet of Samarkhand. But it still is pretty funny. The only thing I don't like is the ending which is sad. Anyway, the rest of the book is good.

Raven's Gate

This is the new series by Anthony Horowitz, writer of the Alex Rider series. I've just finished it and it is rather nice. It's the classic good against evil war with the evil this time being the 'Old Ones', creatures of immense power whose dearest desire is to cause harm to mankind. Long ago, they had broken out in the world and had only just been stopped by five children-four boys and one girl. Now, they were going to be set free again and there was a prophecy that the five children would return once more. This is about the first child, an orphan named Matthew Freeman, or just Matt. To help things along, there is a secret society called the Nexus, composed of rich and prominent people, who help the children.
