Dealing With Dragons

After a long hiatus and a brief but profound apology to readers, if any, here I am.
This is one of those books that grow on you the second time you read them, or at least it did on me, though that might be because I had an exodus of books at the time. It's actually a sort of spoof on traditional fairytales (a line goes 'The Enchanted Forest is very hard to get into but is occasionally entered by youngest sons, brave princes, or very clever tailors').
The heroine, Cimorene, is a bright, brave princess in a crowd of bimbos and is thus very bored of doing the 'proper thing', which, for princesses, is to sit around, look pretty and get married. So she runs away and gets voluntarily kidnapped by a dragon, resists getting rescued by idiotic princes or knights and has adventures. Good book.
