Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen

Sabriel:

Finally another book with a female lead. Seriously, why is it that 9 out of 10 fiction writers make their main character male?

Returning to the book, it is very good. Another new perception of magic, though it's not really magic. The lead character, Sabriel, is an Abhorsen. Or becomes one, in any case. An Abhorsen is someone who makes sure the dead stay dead, because in their world, they often don't. So it's kind of hard to describe. Suffice to reiterate that it is very good.
